just figured it out

I'm in my 30's and just figuring out what my deal is. I just developed this in the past 3 years and it's gotten progressively worse. I got home from being deployed in the military with a little case of PTSD and at some point I started noticing I have these thick coarse hairs all over. As time went by I started pulling them more and more to the point of where I have no eyebrows, routinely have to shave because I pull out my sideburns or various parts of my beard, gapping it up so bad I have to shave to hide it.

I was watching the TV show Scrubs and Heather Graham played a shrink that said something about people compulsively pulling out their hair so I watched it again to see what she said and googled it. The more I read up on it the more I realized what was wrong with me. I'm just starting to learn about it hoping I'll be able to stop so I won't embarrass my wife in our pictures anymore

Having a little case of PTSD

Having a little case of PTSD is like saying your a little bit pregnant. I can't imagine what you've seen during your deployment. It's no wonder that you pull hair. You can shave your facial hair but then where else will you pull? Trust me, you will find another place. Have you been in any type of counceling?

Been through counseling for

Been through counseling for the PTSD, but I've really just found out what trich was in the past week so haven't spoken to anyone about it, other than my wife and now here. I've pulled out all of my eyebrows and all the hair from my sideburns and top of my ear area.
