I didn't realise I had this disorder
I've been pulling my hair and eyelashes for over 12 years, I don't know when it started as I didn't realise it was a recognised condition and just thought it was me being absent minded. I only thought to look it up the other day when I noticed I've been pulling out my eyebrows for the past few months, I've had a lot of stress and upset recently and now my eyebrows are starting to look bald at the outer edges. I've never been so bad with pulling my head hair that it was noticeable but I don't notice that I've done it until it's out and I'm twirling it in my fingers, something else I thought was just me.
I'm embarrassed to say I also pull out hair from "down there" quite a lot in bed. maybe not so much now I'm living with my boyfriend but I still do it.
I've noticed I do the eyebrow/scalp pulling when I'm on the computer or just watching TV. I've never really had nice eyelashes as I tend to pull them too but it's only know I realise that all these things are related.
I think I'm going to try the stressball to stop the eyebrow pulling and I'll let you know how it goes. any tips would be appreciated.
I haven't been to the doctors as I don't know if they'd take me seriously but I'm not sure whether I actually need help for it anyway as I don't have patches on my head but it might account for why my hair is much thinner than it used to be when I was younger.

My worst area next to my
My worst area next to my eyelashes is "down there"! So ultimately being a woman I can get away with shaving it bald. My husband does not mind. He is supportive and a nurse. Definetly get help and all the anonymous tips and advice you can. It is quite beneficial. Educate yourself and your lover. And people you can trust with this. The more people who can make you aware of your pulling is better for you and you won't feel so exiled. My prayers and best wishes are with you. If you ever want to talk in depth personally my own E-mail is posted in one of my Forum topics. God Bless! P.s.- A man gave me a bedtime tip to help me not pull my lashes at night. Use Vaseline on your eyes. It feels sticky and you won't want to touch it but it will moisturize the delicate eye area!!! : )
