Hi, I'm new here. Does anyone out there live in Tucson? I am trying to find a salon that is private. Also, preferably with a stylist that is experienced with medical hair loss. If there's anyone out there, please send a comment.

I wish I could help. I live in Casa Grande, I went to a hair stylist in 05, when my aunt recommended her stylist. I havent been back. The lady looked at my hair and made a horrified face and told me about a place called Horizon human services that was near by. (its a place for people to get counseling) I was so embaressed. I cut my own... well I try to with whats left of it lol

That's almost the same thing that happened to me. Except the girl just asked me if I knew I had bald spots. But the place was packed and I was embarrassed. And of course I knew I had bald spots. I mean, geez. Last time I tried to go to a salon, I left, fighting back the tears of anxiety. I guess there are a couple of salons in Phx. One of them are called Stylistics. She emailed me back and said they have private stalls, so we can feel more comfortable. I'm thinking about making an appointment. I have cut my own, but that was before I needed to do the "comb over". I don't know how to cut it with it parted on the side. I want more than just a trim this time. An actual style would be wonderful. Have you checked out the Trichotillomania Learning Center? I can't remember the web address. That's where I found the names of the salons in phx. Well, Hopefully we get some recognition in Tucson. Soon. If I find anyone, I'll be posting it all over the place. ;D.

Wow, I didnt even know there was salons that did that. Im going to look up there phone number and make an appointment. People can be so unsensitive. Im thinking about that salon you talked about and even now im starting to get cold feet lol. I havent been to one since that last time in 2005. My cousin cut my hair a few times, and just recently I attempted to cut my own lol Its a good thing its all different lengths though thats all Im going to say about my new hair do
